For me this is where the story started to pick up. Once he got into battle school and started playing the games is when i started to really like it. When he would fight in the battle arena thing was my favorite part of the book. It was so cool to see how he would solve each challenge and that he never lost. The battle scenes were so intense i found it hard to put the book down. I liked how he treated his team when he was in command. He was harsh but what he did made them win every round and made his followers love him.
However i do find it hard to believe that kids so young could do things like that. These kids were so smart and so strong that they had to have been genetically changed somehow. These kids he won with were new recruits which means most of them were only 6 or 7 which is crazy because in todays world kids that young are not capable of doing things of that nature.

This story we read today was kind of weird. It was about xenophobia which is the fear of aliens. In this story the humans failed their test because they were happy the human race was human. Which first off how does that even make sense... How could the human race be the master race and humans were unaware of it? second does it really make a difference? I dont think it would be any different than if we were a minority race. I think i would have passed because those kinds of things dont matter to me. And common sense would have taken over. If it was me in this story we would all be in space right now partying it up with some aliens

I really like this book a lot. It is kind of weird though, i dont know many six year olds who beat someone half to death. And his brother seems exceptionally violent. i can only think that children are soprt of bred this way. Like this is the way their society is supposed to be. Little kids running around killing each other and everyone seems ok with it. But also with those things on the back of their neck they are looking to take the best of the best i guess to i cant help but think that society has taken a turn for the worse and that their whole world revolves around this war with the "Buggers". A sort of military agency has taken control of the world in a subtle way i think.

Sales Pitch
i thought this story was pretty good. I liked how much detail it went into. I did have a question though, was Ganymede another planet reletively close to earth? It kinda reminded me of the movie serenity or the series firefly. Because in the beginning they are talking about how they need to move to a different planet where "they" havent got to yet. and in that movie its the same thing, The Allliance in that movie is controlling the people except for some planets that are outside of their reach. which is the same case here because the only planets not affected are the ones outside the solar system.

Science Fiction Blog #2
The short story Homeland was actually very interesting to me. It was really cool to have that perspective of being the alien to someone else. And how they described themselves, you had to figure out who it was talking about.
The Star Trek episode was a bit much for me. I usually like it but this one was too repetitive for me. There were tons of examples of science fiction elements in both however. In homeland she was a person, and yet she was the alien to someone else. And in Star Trek there was time travel, space, space ships, just about everything.

Hello. I am Mike Molina. I am a senior and I am fan of really bad cheesy sci fi movies. I think they are just great the acting is fantastic and the effects are superb. But also I am a fan of things like star wars and X-Files is the greatest show ever made. I am actually a pretty big nerd but gotta get to know me to find that out.
My biggest science fiction moment was when i sat down and watched really cheesy movies with my best friend for a couple hours that was pretty great.
To me science fiction is just an expression of ones imagination through unique characters and scenarios.
